On the Porsche 997, Boxster 987 and Cayman 987, there is no automatic headlight function. Whether you have the standard Porsche headlights or bi-xenon headlights, you will have to turn your lights on and off manually. To enjoy your Porsche with extra comfort and safety, Autolight offers an automatic headlight system. Autolight meets European standards and has been assembled with components designed to meet the constraints of the automotive world.

In short: resistance to extreme temperature ranges, no interference with the other electronic elements of the car, resistance to electrical overloads, all in a discreet box of a few centimeters that does not enter your field of vision. The Autolight box is equipped with a sensor that automatically turns on the Porsche headlights at 80 km/h or more, and turns on the parking lights according to the brightness. The installation takes about 15 minutes and can be done by a professional.

The Autolight box has an E11 certification, which means that it meets the European standards. Autolight is compatible with Porsche 997 headlights, Boxster 987 and Cayman 987 headlights and Cayenne 955 and 957 headlights.

Autolight: simple installation, no visual disturbance

The Autolight box is designed to allow for a simple installation in fifteen minutes. All the necessary tools are provided, and you will even get a small chamois leather cloth to degrease the surface where you decide to install the Autolight box. You can also ask an independent Porsche specialist who will be able to install your automatic headlight switch in a few minutes. The Autolight team can schedule to come for an installation on site if you live in the Paris area. Visually, Autolight is perfectly integrated: the automatic headlight switch box does not enter your field of vision and does not disturb the aesthetics of your Porsche. Automatic headlight activation for all Porsches between 2004 and 2012

Autolight's PALS sensor is compatible with Porsche headlights from models produced between 2005 and 2012, more specifically:

• Porsche 997 Phase 1 (from 2005 to 2008) • Porsche 997 Phase 2 (from 2009 to 2013) • Boxster and Cayman 987 Phase 1 (from 2005 to 2009) • Boxster and Cayman 987 Phase 2 (from 2009 to 2011) • Cayenne 955 (from 2004 to 2007)• Cayenne 957 (from 2008 to 2010)

After the very controversial fried egg headlights of the Porsche 996, the brand returned to the typical 911 aesthetic codes when it came to designing the Porsche 997. In fact, the 997 will mark the great return to round headlights as from its release in 2004. Once again designed by Harm Lagaay, the Porsche 997 is his last project before his retirement. Critics are unanimous about the 997's successful aesthetics, which is due in part to its round headlights. The turn signal units are this time integrated in the front bumper. They are still classic halogen lamps, but a Xenon headlight option is available. In both cases, no automatic headlight system is offered as standard. This is the reason why Autolight created PALS.

With the Porsche 997 Phase 2 released in 2009, Porsche only slightly redesigns the 911.

The headlights keep the same oval shape, but the lighting system inside clearly evolves, with two headlights this time. The parking lights are also replaced by LED daytime running lights. Bi-xenon headlights are offered as an option, with an automatic headlight range adjustment system. But the automatic headlight activation is still missing. A rather surprising point when all BMWs offer it at the time. In terms of comfort and safety, Porsche did not succeed. That is why Autolight offers you PALS, the automatic headlight sensor on your Porsche 997.

When Porsche introduced the Boxster 987 in 2005, there were big changes from the Boxster 986, and the headlights were once again among the most notable changes. While the Boxster 986 shared its front headlights with the Porsche 996, that is no longer the case here, as the Boxster 987 and the Porsche 997 have adopted an identity of their own, with different headlights. The Boxster 987 has triangular shaped headlights that are slightly reminiscent of the Carrera GT.

In 2006, Porsche declines the Boxster in coupe version: it will be the Cayman 987 which shares its headlights with the Boxster 987. The shape of the headlights is identical, the options too: standard headlights, bi-xenon headlights and headlight washers as options. Only on limited editions like the Cayman S Porsche Design Edition 1 or the Boxster S RS 60 released in 2008 are the bi-xenon headlights and headlight washers offered as standard.

In 2009, the Boxster 987 and Cayman 987 are upgraded to Phase 2. The headlight developments follow those introduced on the 997 Porsche: two more powerful headlights and the replacement of the daytime running lights by LED lights. The Boxster Spyder is quite special as its daytime running lights are reduced to tiny lights in the air intakes in the front bumper. The xenon headlights on the Boxster 987 and Cayman 987 remain standard. And still no automatic headlight option. How does the Autolight automatic headlight

switch on work?

Autolight is connected to your Porsche headlight system. An ambient light sensor measures the brightness and the headlights automatically turn on in dark environments. In other words, when you drive through a tunnel or at night, Autolight automatically turns on the headlights of your Porsche. You don't need to turn the headlights' dial.

During the day, the automatic headlight function is dependent on the speed of your Porsche: from 80 km/h onwards, the headlights of your Porsche will automatically switch on for added safety. With these two functions, you will always have the best possible lighting, so you can see better and be seen better at the wheel of your Porsche, which means greater safety for you and other road users.
